Game recap: Modesto Christian High School Football Team bests Calaveras

MODESTO, Calif. - Modesto Christian (Modesto, Calif.) put an additional 20 points on the board on top of its 24-point lead going into the fourth quarter to beat out Calaveras (San Andreas, Calif.) 51-15.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Anthony Brooks to Austin Deshields in the second quarter, the Crusaders were up 28-7 at the half.

Modesto Christian expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. MC's lone score in the quarter came on a field goal by Conner Chicoine.

Brooks played well for the Modesto school in the victory. The senior halfback threw three touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.

The Crusaders also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 25-20.



The defeat comes as a step back for Calaveras, who notched a 64-21 victory over Yosemite in its previous outing.

Modesto Christian (2-1) will play a non-conference game against East Union next week, while Calaveras (1-1) will take on Sonora also in a non-conference game.
