Baseball Game Preview: Addison Knights vs. Arkport Central Bluejays

The Addison Knights will square off against the Arkport Central Bluejays at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Addison's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Canisteo-Greenwood 11-0. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won eight in a row.

Andrew Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Sawyer Westervelt was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Tyler Miller was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Arkport Central had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over Jasper-Troupsburg on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Bluejays, who have now won eight matches in a row dating back to last season.
