Basketball Recap: Thompson Falls Short of Kindred in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Thompson can now relate to. They took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kindred Vikings on Friday. The Tommies have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Despite the loss, Thompson still got an impressive performance from Karter Peterson, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Peterson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Krogstad, who posted 12 points.

Thompson's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Kindred, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 26-1.

Looking ahead, Thompson won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Shiloh Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Kindred does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
