Baseball Recap: Lincoln Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Valley Christian Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lincoln Prep). They put the hurt on the North Valley Christian Academy Lions with a sharp 16-5 win on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Lightning with their most commanding win of the season.

Finn Dilley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.7 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Jackson Platt was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Asher Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Lincoln Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lincoln Prep and bumps their season record up to 3-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12-1.

Looking ahead, Lincoln Prep will take on Santa Cruz Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Cruz Valley will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lincoln Prep surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they will square off against Fountain Hills at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
