Softball Recap: Lakeshore Lancers vs. Penn Kingsmen
Lakeshore extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 21-8 in the process. They came up short against the Penn Kingsmen, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kingsmen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 on Friday.
As for Penn, they pushed their record up to 21-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. Considering they have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
For Penn's part, Olivia Signorino tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Signorino has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ava Zachary was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Rumble, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Coming up, Lakeshore will welcome Lakeview at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Penn does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
