Football Recap: Nathan Byrd Key Part of Team Effort in Warriors Win

Scottsburg's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 28-21 win over the Corydon Central Panthers. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Scottsburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathan Byrd out in front who threw for 273 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in one rushing score. What's more, Byrd racked up 150.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. 152 of Byrd's passing yards were hauled in by Garrett Boling, who also brought in two receiving touchdowns.

Scottsburg's record is now 4-0. As for Corydon Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Scottsburg didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-0 victory against Silver Creek on the 19th. As for Corydon Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 52-8 win against Clarksville on the 19th.
