Basketball Recap: Northwestern Takes a Loss

Northwestern lost against Keystone back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Northwestern Huskies were outmatched by the Keystone Wildcats and fell 60-15. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.

Leading Keystone to victory were Madyson Sokolowski and Vivian Cassell. Sokolowski went 8 for 19 on her way to 22 points in addition to eight steals and five boards, while Cassell almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sokolowski has scored at least a third of Keystone's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Gaines, who posted 12 points.

Northwestern's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Keystone, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwestern will take on Waynedale in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Keystone, they will venture away from home to square off against Clearview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
