Softball Recap: Gooding Victorious

Gooding gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Declo Hornets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Senators also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Gooding saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fayth Gillette, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Another was Emma Day, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Gooding always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Gooding now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Declo, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Gooding wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-3 victory against Wendell on the 18th. As for Declo, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-1 win against American Falls on the 20th.
