After a string of five wins, Bishop Gorman's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 19-6 to the Palo Verde Panthers. The contest marked the Gaels' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Palo Verde's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Manzo, who picked up 55 receiving yards and three touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Manzo has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Yolana Huff, who threw for 126 yards and three touchdowns.

Bishop Gorman's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for Palo Verde, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Gorman will square off against Arbor View at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palo Verde, they will challenge Southeast Career Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Palo Verde: 8.7, Southeast Career Tech: 9) so any points scored will be well earned.
