Baseball Recap: Indian Creek Triumphs

Indian Creek won the last time they faced Steubenville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Redskins came out on top against the Big Red by a score of 9-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redskins.

Parker Heath looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hunter Rusnak and Gavin Pownall did most of the damage at the plate: Rusnak went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Pownall got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Rusnak a new career-high. Ian Starkey also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Indian Creek's record is now 14-2. As for Steubenville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Indian Creek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-9 win against Weir on the 30th. As for Steubenville, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-4 loss against Brooke on the 30th.
