Basketball Recap: Providence Grove Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Uwharrie Charter Academy came into Friday's game looking for another win against Providence Grove, but Will Dabbs wouldn't allow it. The Providence Grove Patriots walked away with a 63-50 win over the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Dabbs, who went 11 of 19 en route to 30 points and eight boards. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played.

Another player making a difference was Brady Collins, who posted eight points along with nine boards and eight assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaron Smith, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Jaxon Mabe also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Providence Grove has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Providence Grove will welcome Southwestern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
