Basketball Recap: Caroline Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Caroline can now relate to. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Courtland Cougars on Friday. The Cavaliers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Airyana Maze was nothing short of spectacular for Courtland: she dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Maze a new career-high in blocks (five). Another player making a difference was Taylor West, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Caroline's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Courtland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.

Caroline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Courtland, they will head out to take on Chancellor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
