Baseball Recap: Pewitt Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pewitt can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hawkins Hawks by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Brahmas have lost by just one run.

Jd Smith spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Madden Green was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Pewitt has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Hawkins, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-8-1.

As of now, neither Pewitt nor the Hawks have any future games scheduled.
