Recap: Jenkins Warriors vs. Ware County Gators
The Jenkins Warriors fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Ware County Gators on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to the Gators. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (63), Jenkins still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Jenkins lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jeremiah James. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. James is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Anthony Aj bynum was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Jenkins are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only three points. As for Ware County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
