Softball Game Preview: Morris Redskins vs. LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers

Morris is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while LaSalle-Peru is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Redskins will welcome the Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Morris 3.6, LaSalle-Peru 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Morris is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Sycamore just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans.

Halie Olson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Macie Ferguson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, LaSalle-Peru was able to grind out a solid victory over Kaneland on Monday, taking the game 6-2. That's two games straight that the Cavaliers have won by exactly four runs.

LaSalle-Peru's win bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Morris, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5.
