Softball Preview: Lewisburg Patriots vs. Tupelo Golden Wave        
        
		
            
 After three games on the road, Lewisburg is heading back home. They will take on the Tupelo Golden Wave at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Lewisburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8  runs per game  this season.
 Lewisburg is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout  on Thursday, just like they did against Oxford (and have done all season long). Lewisburg was the clear victor by  a  17-7 margin over Oxford on Friday.
  Leah Walker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Walker has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Walker was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Kara Walker, who  went 3-for-4 with two  triples, five  RBI,  and two  runs. She has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times she's  played.  Leona Klaire Stokes was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Tupelo fell victim to a  tough 13-1 defeat at the hands of Saltillo  on Friday. Tupelo has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Lewisburg is  on a roll lately: they've  won 12 of their last 13 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record  this season. As for Tupelo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
 Lewisburg took their  win against Tupelo  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023 by a conclusive  8-0. Does  Lewisburg have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tupelo turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
