Basketball Recap: Owen Valley Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jesse Durnil and Kaden White

Owen Valley lost against Linton-Stockton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Owen Valley Patriots received a blow as they fell 57-43 to the Linton-Stockton Miners. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Miners are ranked 78th).

Owen Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaden White, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points, and Jesse Durnil, who posted 12 points. Those 19 points gave White a new career-high.

Owen Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Linton-Stockton, their win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

Owen Valley has already played their next game (against North Putnam), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Linton-Stockton will square off against Terre Haute South Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Linton-Stockton is facing Terre Haute South Vigo at the right time seeing as Terre Haute South Vigo is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
