Basketball Recap: The Gunston School Starts off Right with Win over Eastern Shore Homeschool

The Gunston School gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They strolled past the Eastern Shore HomeSchool Mavericks with points to spare, taking the game 53-38.

Despite the defeat, Eastern Shore HomeSchool saw an underclassman step up: freshman Eli Miller posted 15 points and five steals. Miller is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Izzy Cousins, who earned six points and seven rebounds.

Eastern Shore HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. The Gunston School will host Kent County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Shore HomeSchool, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bayview Christian at 6:15 p.m.
