Softball Recap: Everett Crimson Tide vs. Cambridge Rindge & Latin Falcons

Everett had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 9-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Cambridge Rindge & Latin Falcons, falling 18-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-13 back in April.

As for Cambridge Rindge & Latin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly 14 runs.

For Cambridge Rindge & Latin's part, Marin Albrecht made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Albrecht has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Eleanor Holleran was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Caroline Orr, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
