Basketball Recap: Fairview Eagles vs. Expression Prep Academy Lions
The Fairview Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. Their rough 99-76 defeat to Expression Prep Academy might stick with them for a while. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (74), Fairview still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Expression Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jackson Childers, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. Childers is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Coats, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Fairview's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-17. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Expression Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.
Fairview will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Russell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Kentucky (the Red Devils are ranked 95th, while the Eagles are ranked 239th). As for Expression Prep Academy, they will be playing at home against the Irish at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Holy Family is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
