Softball Recap: Hidden Valley Drops Season-High Score on Junction City

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hidden Valley). They blew past the Junction City Tigers 13-1 on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their two-run performance the match before.

Scarlett Gordon spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bailey Sandquist was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Sam Lesher was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Hidden Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Junction City, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Hidden Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
