Basketball Game Preview: West Shores Wildcats vs. Warner Wildcats

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

West Shores took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Calexico Mission by a score of 44-34. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the RoadRunners recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Warner waltzed into their game on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Eagles 57-34. With the Wildcats ahead 36-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Warner's win came from a few key players West Shores will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Anthony Porras, who dropped a triple-double with 12 points, ten boards, and ten steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last six games he's played. Raul Martinez was another key player, going 7 for 15 en route to 18 points and three steals.

Warner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.

Warner pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.4 points over those games. As for West Shores, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

West Shores might still be hurting after the 47-25 defeat they got from Warner in their previous meeting two weeks ago.
