Baseball Game Preview: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Buckeye Hawks

The Willow Canyon Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Buckeye Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Willow Canyon and nine for Buckeye.

On Friday, Willow Canyon didn't have quite enough to beat Verrado and fell 2-1.

Jackson Duce was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Willow Canyon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Patrick, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Canyon View hit Buckeye with a 16-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Hawks came up short against the Jaguars, falling 19-1.

Buckeye's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Willow Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.
