Baseball Recap: Wayne Valley Comes Up Short

Wayne Valley was the 5-2 winner over Passaic when they last played one another back in April of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Wayne Valley fell 6-3 to Passaic on Friday.

Ryan Luzzi put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Christian Varano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run.

Wayne Valley now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Passaic, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne Valley will take on West Milford at 3:16 p.m. on Monday. As for Passaic, they will challenge Eastside at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
