Basketball Preview: Francis W. Parker Colonels vs. King Jaguars
The Francis W. Parker Colonels will be playing at home against the King Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Francis W. Parker's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Lake Forest Academy 72-27. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Francis W. Parker in their matchups with the Caxys: they've now lost four in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Anna Swanson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. Sloane Kins was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, King and the Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the Jaguars had to settle for second. They took a serious blow against the Eagles, falling 54-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points King has scored all season.
Francis W. Parker has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for King, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5.
