Basketball Recap: Jackson Comes Up Short

Jackson extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-8. They lost 79-55 to the Midtown Knights. The Jaguars lost against the Knights in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 64-62 score last time.

As for Midtown, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3. That looming 79-55 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Midtown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Horton, who shot 46% from the field en route to 15 points and three steals. Horton is becoming a predictor of the Knights' success: when he posts at least three steals the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't). Lawrence Barreau was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine boards.

Jackson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-52 win against Forest Park on the 12th. As for Midtown, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-47 defeat against Pace Academy on the 12th.
