Basketball Recap: Fresno Takes a Loss

Fresno was the 57-53 winner over Roosevelt when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Fresno Warriors lost to the Roosevelt Rough Riders at home by a 58-44 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 662nd, while the Rough Riders are ranked 281st).

Roosevelt's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrell Sutherland, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Cobi Posas was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Fresno has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Fresno didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-54 victory against Edison on the 5th. As for Roosevelt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-58 defeat against Sanger on the 5th.
