Basketball Recap: Harrison Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Nadia Turnipseed and Alauna Dickerson

Harrison lost against Palmer back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Harrison Panthers fell 52-44 to the Palmer Terrors. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harrison's loss came despite strong showings from Alauna Dickerson and Nadia Turnipseed. Dickerson went 6 of 10 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and five steals, while Turnipseed posted 13 points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds. Turnipseed is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed five or more in the last three games she's played. Francine Niyogusenga also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Harrison now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Palmer, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Harrison Panthers face off against the Coronado Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Palmer, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-33 defeat against Thomas MacLaren School on the 25th.
