Baseball Recap: Farmington Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Farmington lost to Hillsboro back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Knights blew past the Hawks 8-1. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Aiden Redmond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tatem Tinsley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Trevor Sutherland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Farmington pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Hillsboro, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Coming up, Farmington will welcome Potosi at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Hillsboro, they will face off against De Smet Jesuit at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
