Baseball Game Preview: Red Creek Rams vs. Gananda Central Blue Panthers

Red Creek hasn't had much luck against Gananda Central recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Blue Panthers at 5:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Red Creek turned things around against Marion on Saturday. They never let the Black Knights get on the board and left with a 1-0 win.

Meanwhile, Gananda Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They blew past Red Jacket 10-1. Considering the Blue Panthers have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jack Frick, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Will Schneemann, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Gananda Central pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Red Creek, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-10.
