Baseball Recap: Ballard Comes Up Short

After flying high against DeSales on Tuesday, Ballard came back down to earth. The Bruins came up short against the Sayre Spartans on Wednesday, falling 11-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bruins have suffered since April 14th.

Ballard's defeat dropped their record down to 20-9. As for Sayre, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8-1 record this season.

Ballard will challenge DuPont Manual at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sayre, they will face off against Scott County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
