Baseball Game Preview: Enumclaw Hornets vs. Kentlake Falcons

The Enumclaw Hornets will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Kentlake Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Enumclaw 1.1, Kentlake 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Kentlake will be up against a hot Enumclaw team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Enumclaw walked away with a 4-1 win over Auburn Mountainview on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Landon Wall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Juden Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kentlake). They came out on top against Liberty by a score of 7-4 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Kentlake let Christopher Moore and Liam Lynch run wild. Moore scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Lynch scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That run was Moore's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Lawrence, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Kentlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Enumclaw pushed their record up to 6-0-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Kentlake, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Enumclaw skirted past Kentlake 8-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2019. Does Enumclaw have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kentlake turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
