Volleyball Recap: Air Academy Takes a Loss

Air Academy managed to slip by Bayfield the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Kadets lost 3-0 to the Wolverines on Saturday. The Kadets just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Mae Magoon paced Air Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Magoon got some help from Audrey Husemann and her 11 assists. Aurelia Matzelle controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Lauren Rich was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 12 digs and two assists. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Air Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Bayfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Air Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Severance on the 7th. As for Bayfield, after both having extra time off, they and St. Mary's Academy will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
