Volleyball Recap: Shelbe Lyons' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Air Academy over Bayfield

Air Academy managed to slip by Bayfield the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Kadets came up short against the Wolverines on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Kadets' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Air Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shelbe Lyons, who had 11 digs and one assist. Lyons has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played. Aurelia Matzelle was another key player, getting seven digs and three aces.

Air Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Bayfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Air Academy nor Bayfield have any future games scheduled.
