Softball Recap: Lakota East Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Lakota East waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Seton Saints.

Krystalin Wagner was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haley Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lakota East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive games.

Lakota East pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Seton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakota East will head out to challenge Sycamore at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seton, they will venture away from home to face off against Anderson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
