Farmington extended their winning streak to nine on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 11-2 in the process. They put the hurt on the Potosi Trojans with a sharp 15-5 victory. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Jackson McDowell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. McDowell was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
In other batting news, Farmington got a massive performance out of Connor Rice, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most hits Rice has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cooper Tripp, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Farmington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
As for Potosi, they dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since March 17th.
On Potosi's side, Landon Johnson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The Trojans are 3-1 when Johnson posts three or more RBI, but 3-8 otherwise. Edward Sansegraw also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Farmington will square off against Marquand-Zion at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Tigers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Potosi, they will challenge Crystal City at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
