Soccer Game Preview: Sweeny vs. Stafford

Sweeny hasn't had much luck against Stafford recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 12:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Sweeny didn't have quite enough to beat Columbia and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, Stafford fell victim to Brazosport and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Exporters. Considering the last time Stafford couldn't score was back in January, the team can't take the result too hard.

Stafford's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Sweeny, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Sweeny might still be hurting after the 6-2 loss they got from Stafford in their previous meeting back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 3-0.
