Baseball Recap: Henderson Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

Henderson never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top against the East Vikings by a score of 5-0. Five seems to be a good number for the Warriors as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The result came thanks to Anthony Barthol's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Zach Ward, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Franks, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Henderson has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for East, they moved to 10-8 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Henderson will take on Bishop Shanahan at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Great Valley at 4:00 p.m. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
