Basketball Recap: Hyde Park Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Hyde Park won the last time they faced Taft and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hyde Park Thunderbirds walked away with a 65-55 win over the Taft Eagles. Given the Thunderbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Eagles are ranked 340th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hyde Park's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Taft, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Hyde Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-55 win against Perspectives Leadership/Technology on the 11th. As for Taft, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-46 victory against Senn on the 11th.
