Recap: Hillsboro Hawks vs. DeSoto Dragons
The Hillsboro Hawks won the last time they faced the DeSoto Dragons, and things went their way on Friday too. Hillsboro came out on top against DeSoto by a score of 60-49. Given Hillsboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while DeSoto is ranked 391st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, DeSoto still got an impressive performance from Aidyn Mitchell, who scored 21 points. Mitchell's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Mcclinton, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Hillsboro's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for DeSoto, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsboro will take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DeSoto, they will head out on the road to take on Festus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Festus will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
