Baseball Recap: Havelock Takes a Loss

Havelock lost against New Bern on March 4th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams lost 8-1 to the Bears. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Havelock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Kurtz, who went 1-for-2 with one double. AJ Orta also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Havelock's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for New Bern, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Havelock will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Northside - Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd. The Rams are facing the Monarchs at the right time seeing as the Monarchs are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for New Bern, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against West Craven on the 24th.
