Basketball Recap: Wilcox-Hildreth Comes Up Short

Wilcox-Hildreth lost against Kenesaw back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons were outmatched by the Kenesaw Blue Devils and fell 67-37. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 117th).

Adam Denkert continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Kenesaw, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Denkert's morning made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Wagoner, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Wilcox-Hildreth and nudges their season record down to 2-9. As for Kenesaw, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wilcox-Hildreth will square off against Elm Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kenesaw, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Harvard at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
