Carrollton has gone a perfect 3-0 against East Liverpool recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Potters at 5:00 p.m. Carrollton hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.
On Tuesday, Carrollton came up short against Minerva and fell 7-2.
Carrollton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kearsten Ball, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Rylie Alborn also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Meanwhile, East Liverpool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 16-15 heartbreaker at the hands of Chaney. Even if the Potters couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Trinity Pearson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 5-for-6 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Chloe Galeoti was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Carrollton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for East Liverpool, their loss dropped their record down to 2-20.
Carrollton's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. The Warriors have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for East Liverpool, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Carrollton continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Carrollton's way against East Liverpool when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Carrollton made off with a 20-0 win. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Potters turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
