Softball Recap: Golden Valley Comes Up Short

Golden Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 7-2 to the Canyon Cowboys. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in March.

Rohan Elhamamsy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Ilana Watson, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Golden Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Canyon, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Golden Valley will take on Saugus at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Centurions will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Grizzlies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Canyon, they will square off against Westlake at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
