Football Game Preview: MICDS Rams vs. Mexico Bulldogs

The MICDS Rams will challenge the Mexico Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when MICDS and St. Dominic meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Rams took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Crusaders are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Mexico's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 28-21 to Moberly. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 7-0 in the first quarter.

MICDS will have to contain Charlie Fisher as he made an impact in Mexico's last game. He rushed for 116 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 79 yards and one TD. Korbyn Dorsey helped out on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.

MICDS' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Mexico, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for MICDS against Mexico in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-7 victory. In that matchup, the Rams amassed a halftime lead of 36-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
