Softball Recap: Cholla Comes Up Short

Cholla was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to the Maricopa Rams.

Anasofia Garcia was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Nallely Contreras, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Cholla's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Maricopa, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Cholla will face off against Mesquite at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maricopa, they will challenge Mountain Pointe at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Pointe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
