Basketball Game Preview: Caldwell Cougars vs. Nampa Bulldogs

The Caldwell Cougars will take on the Nampa Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Caldwell and ten for Nampa.

On Wednesday, Caldwell was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Middleton. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Vikings are ranked 22nd).

Meanwhile, Nampa played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Skyview and fell 72-39. The Bulldogs were down 61-31 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Nampa's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Caldwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Caldwell didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Nampa when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Caldwell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
