Last Friday, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers beat Churubusco 41-30. Given Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Churubusco is ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Giovanny Jimenez, who rushed for 65 yards and three touchdowns. Mickey Daring was another key contributor, rushing for 113 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Eastside can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-7 win over Wabash at home.
Eastside found their leader in underclassman Linkin Carter, who rushed for 130 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Davis, who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.
Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Eastside, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
