Basketball Game Preview: San Jacinto Tigers vs. Tahquitz Titans

San Jacinto is 10-0 against Tahquitz since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The San Jacinto Tigers will welcome the Tahquitz Titans at 7:00 p.m. San Jacinto is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.

San Jacinto's tournament run continued when they took on Laguna Beach last Monday. San Jacinto received a blow as they fell 59-43 to Laguna Beach.

The losing side was boosted by Josiah Mejia, who posted 13 points in addition to five boards and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Norman, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Tahquitz was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 71-37 loss at the hands of Elsinore. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-16.

Tahquitz's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for San Jacinto, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

San Jacinto didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Tahquitz in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 59-53 win.
