Volleyball Game Preview: Cholla Chargers vs. Sahuarita Mustangs

Cholla is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Sahuarita an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Cholla Chargers will host the Sahuarita Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Sahuarita took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Cholla, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, Cholla turned things around against Amphitheater on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since March 26, 2024.

Cholla was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (102-98), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-22, 25-20, 17-25, 15-10.

Meanwhile, Sahuarita lost 3-0 to St. Mary's on Friday.

While Sahuarita ultimately came up short, they really made St. Mary's work, particularly in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-10, 28-26.

Sahuarita's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Cholla, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-11.
